Dan is a member of the firm and concentrates his practice in the areas of general trial and appellate litigation with a focus in employment, business, and immigration law. Born in Oakland, California in 1966, he obtained his bachelor of arts degree at Knox College in 1988 and his Juris Doctorate degree at Drake University in 1991 where he was Articles Editor of the Drake Law Review and Managing Editor of the Drake Legal Research Service. Dan served as a graduate judicial law clerk to the Honorable Allen L. Donielson, Iowa Court of Appeals, from 1991 to 1992. Dan has been engaged in the private practice of law in west-central Illinois since 1992. He is a current member of AILA, the American Immigration Lawyers Association, a past member of the Illinois State Bar Association Labor & Employment Law Section Council (1999 – 2006), and a past member of the Illinois State Bar Association Assembly. 

He has served as a member of the Blackstone Inn of Court, the Knox County and Illinois State Bar Associations, and the Bar Association of the Central and Southern Districts of Illinois. Dan is admitted to practice before the Seventh Circuit United States Court of Appeals and the Central and Northern United States federal District Courts. He is also a member of the trial bar of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. 

Dan was selected as an Illinois Super Lawyer in 2007. He has published articles in the Drake Law Review, the Illinois State Bar Association Journal, and the Illinois State Bar Association Labor and Employment Law Section Council Newsletter.

Dan has presented numerous seminars on employment law for small businesses for the Galesburg and Monmouth Chambers of Commerce, the Carl Sandburg College CABI, and for various Human Resources associations. He also has presented continuing legal education seminars on employment law topics sponsored by the Illinois State Bar Association.
